Samarkand in the Reception Hall May 15 opened the international conference "The historical legacy of scholars and thinkers of the medieval East, its role and importance for modern civilization." www.arxiv.uz

 In the international forum organized at the initiative of President Islam Karimov, involves scientists from around fifty countries, in particular from the United States, Great Britain, Italy, China, South Korea, Germany, Japan, India, Egypt, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Russia , Azerbaijan, heads of authoritative international organizations, university professors, experts research centers and institutes, experts, according to the presidential press service.  At the opening of the international conference was the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. www.arxiv.uz

The conference was a demonstration video on the life and work of scientists and thinkers of the medieval East, their historical heritage and the activities of their academic schools. At the initiative of the head of our state in the years of independence revived the names of our great ancestors.  One of the most famous scientists and thinkers of the time was Muhammad Musa Khwarizmi. And now produced worldwide calculations, including in the field of new technologies, based on the rules established by it.  The whole world, appreciating the contribution Khwarizmi in the development of science, with great respect for his land nurtured. Artwork Ahmad Ferghani "Fundamentals of Astronomy" in the XII century, was translated into Latin and Hebrew, and subsequently been reprinted in Italy, Germany, France, Holland, the United States and other countries, which testifies to its invaluable.  In the development of the science of the medieval East occupies a special place Khorezm Mamun Academy. Invaluable contribution to the development of universal thoughts scholar and lexicographer Abu Nasr ibn Iroko, Abu Rayhan Biruni, Avicenna, Mahmoud Khujand, Ahmad ibn Muhammad Khwarizmi, Ahmad ibn Hamid Naysaburi.  At the behest of Ulugbek in a number of cities in the country were built madrasa in Samarkand was formed genuinely scientific environment corresponding to the modern academy, under favorable conditions, which employed more than 200 scientists.  Artwork Ulugbek "Zizh" fully engulfed theoretical and practical aspects of astronomy in the Middle Ages was widespread in Asia and Europe.
